the Apostles spreading the Word; the Royal Society globalising science; the Lunar society fuelling the industrial revolution; the French impressionists; the Inklings; and the PayPal Mafia. homeDAO is about creating the environment where this perspective is the default.
Intensity
The central purpose of modern universities is often vague and ambiguous. homeDAO's purpose is clear: to bring together obsessive, young pioneers and catalyse their growth. We're often told to follow our passions, and we often forget the etymology: suffering. In homeDAO, suffering and hardship go hand-in-hand with self-overcoming and success. Life in homeDAO is often esoteric and unusual to the uninitiated. There is no plan too bold, no idea too grand, for these halls.
The New Society
In practical terms, imagine going to Oxford, but your accommodation is free, your peers are as ambitious as you are, the university gives you seed funding to explore your ideas, and your lectures are by the world's most successful founders and investors. homeDAO members come from all over the world and all sorts of disciplines. Yes, many people meet their co-founders whilst living in homeDAO. We generally encourage you to find a co-founder, but depending on the stage you're at, it may not be necessary. Your co-founder does not need to live in the house. No qualifications are necessary - you could be a phd or a high-school dropout: just apply.
Yes, we have flexible arrangements for these cases - just mention your context in your application.
Cohort 3 starts in October 2026. It lasts 12 months, composed of three 9-week sprints with breaks in-between. Most of your time will be spent in the house, though travel for customers / investors etc. is fine.
Companies born in homeDAO include Pump fun - the fastest consumer app to hit $1bn in profit, EXO Labs (frontier models on local hardware), and Ducky (building the world's largest drones). Past cohorts have focused on crypto, AI, and hardware, but we're open to all areas.
